The Jomolhari Trek is Bhutan’s signature high-altitude trek, renowned for its unmatched Himalayan views, pristine landscapes, and cultural depth. This trek brings you face-to-face with Mount Jomolhari (7,326m), also revered as the “Bride of Kangchenjunga.” You’ll pass through yak pastures, deep river valleys, and remote villages, while exploring ancient fortresses and monasteries.

The Jomolhari Loop is a shorter version of the full trek, ideal for those seeking altitude and mountain views without committing to the full circuit. The Full Jomolhari Trek (11–12 days) includes additional high passes such as Yeli La and Nyele La, offering a more challenging route.

  • Adds higher passes: Nyele La (4,870m) and Yeli La (4,930m)

  • Visits remote villages like Lingshi, Shodu, and Barshong

  • Ends in Dodena near Thimphu

Itinerary

Begin trek from Drugyel Dzong. Follow the Paro River through pine and oak forests. Camp at Shana.
Trek through dense forests and scattered farmhouses. Gradual ascent with glimpses of distant snow peaks. Overnight at Thangthangkha campsite.
Beautiful hike through alpine meadows and yak herder camps. Mount Jomolhari first becomes visible. Arrive at Jangothang, the base camp of Mt. Jomolhari. Overnight camping with stunning views.
Optional hikes to Tshophu Lakes or Jomolhari Ridge. Great opportunity for photography and high-altitude acclimatization. Overnight at Jangothang.
Trek through wide yak pastures and descend to the valley. Camp near the Soi Yaktsa settlement. Views of Mount Jichu Drake and Tshering Gang en route.
Steep climb through lush pastures and rhododendron forests. Cross Bhonte La Pass (4,890m) for sweeping mountain views. Camp in scenic highland meadows of Thombu Shong.
Descend through a steep trail to Gunitsawa village. Meet the vehicle and drive back to Paro. Overnight at hotel.
Transfer to Paro airport or optional sightseeing in Paro or Thimphu.

    • Cancellations made 15–30 days before trek start: 30% cancellation fee

    • Cancellations made 7–14 days before trek start: 50% cancellation fee

    • Cancellations less than 7 days before departure or no-shows: 100% cancellation fee

      Refunds will be processed within 7 to 10 working days.
      No refunds for early return, unused services, or cancellations due to personal reasons.
      In the event of trek disruption due to weather or unforeseen natural events, alternative arrangements will be made, and any refundable amount will be provided as per the company’s discretion.
